Assembly and conversion
How you can easily connect the three S beds to form a family bed without any tools is explained in the assembly instructions, where you can also find out how to convert the bed to your desired size. You can also take a look at our video tutorial. The conversion can be reversed at any time.

Matching mattress & Co.
Our natural latex mattress is a perfect match for the cardboard bed and makes your bedroom even more comfortable. Our beds are generally suitable for many common types of mattresses. We recommend mattresses with a minimum height of 15 cm and a medium-firm to firm feel. Please also follow the mattress manufacturer’s recommendations regarding the appropriate base. In our shop you will find also find our super soft organic cotton bed linen and textile headboard. 

Note for smooth floors
For smooth floors, we recommend placing an anti-slip mat under the bed to prevent slipping.

The Family Bed 2.0 consists of three size S beds, which you connect using the included connectors. The individual cardboard beds can be quickly and easily set up in your desired width, giving you complete flexibility when configuring your family bed. Another advantage: the family bed can be separated back into individual beds at any time without tools when the time comes for your child to have their own bed.

With a height of 33 cm, the Family Bed 2.0 can be set up in widths between 240 and 300 cm and extended to a length of 220 cm. If you don’t need it for a while and want to use the space differently, you can simply fold it up – like a folding bed – and place the mattresses against the wall. The individual beds are so lightweight that you can even carry them on your own, which is especially convenient when moving house.

The stable diamond-shaped construction of our bed makes an additional slatted frame unnecessary. The open structure ensures sufficient air circulation underneath the mattress without negatively affecting the comfort of your mattress. Like all our cardboard furniture, the Family Bed 2.0 is made from high-quality heavy-duty cardboard and is therefore particularly stable and durable. Its carefully considered construction provides a high load-bearing capacity. The Family Bed 2.0 can support up to four people weighing 150 kg each.

Our cardboard furniture is made from high-quality heavy-duty corrugated cardboard containing 54–80% recycled fibres. Thanks to its carefully considered construction, it offers a high load-bearing capacity while remaining surprisingly lightweight. This makes it easy to move in everyday life, rearrange and adapt to new living situations. The corrugated cardboard we use is bonded with plant-based starch adhesive and printed with solvent-free, water-based inks. At the end of its life cycle, you can simply dispose of your bed with waste paper and return it to the recycling stream.

The Family Bed 2.0 is perfectly complemented by our natural latex mattress and bed linen made from organic cotton. For ultimate comfort, we also offer our headboard made from natural latex.

How do I assemble the family bed?
Depending on the size of your family bed, you only need to pull up the individual S-beds, convert them with a few simple steps (if necessary) and then connect them. The assembly/conversion process is described in our assembly instructions and does not require any tools. 

What sizes are possible for the family bed?
The family bed consists of three connected beds of size S and has a width of at least 240 to a maximum of 300 cm and a length of 200 to 220 cm. You can also connect it with additional beds of size S to go beyond a width of 300 cm.  

Can I change the size of the family bed afterwards?
The size of your family bed can be adjusted to your needs at any time. You can easily connect it to another Bed 2.0 or enlarge it by adding extension sets. In our assembly instructions you can find out how to achieve your desired bed size. 

How high is the family bed?
The family bed has a height of 33 cm.

Can I also use the beds individually?
Yes, you can. The big advantage of our family bed is that it consists of three connected S-size cardboard beds. Once your children are so big that they no longer sleep in your bed, you can simply remove one of the beds from the family bed and continue to use it in the children's room.

Can I fit a fall-out protection?
Yes, this is possible. For example, an L-shaped fall-out protection can be securely clamped between the mattress and the bed frame. Since there are many different brands, please always check whether the respective model is suitable. Alternatively, there are foam rods that you can position under the bed sheet.

Do I need a slatted frame for the family bed?
No, a separate slatted frame is not necessary. You can simply place the mattress(es) on the family bed. The rhombus construction ensures sufficient air circulation under the mattress. By the way: The German consumer organisation Stiftung Warentest explicitly advises its readers to use a rigid slatted frame in a test result. That's exactly what our bed does.

How resilient is the family bed?
Even though it is made of cardboard, you can do everything on the bed that you do on a conventional bed. The sophisticated rhombic construction made of heavy-duty corrugated cardboard ensures a high load-bearing capacity. It can carry up to four persons with a respective body weight of up to 150 kg. In addition, it is tested according to DIN standard 1725:2024-02. So nothing stands in the way of long hours of romping! What's more, the bed can be opened and closed hundreds of times.
