Family bed

Load capacity
The Bed 2.0 in size S carries one person, from size M two and as a family bed up to four persons with a respective body weight of up to 150 kg.

Matching mattresses & Co.
An excellent complement to our cardboard bed is our natural latex mattress. Our beds are generally suitable for many common types of mattresses. We recommend mattresses with a minimum height of 15 cm and a medium-firm to firm feel. Please also follow the mattress manufacturer’s recommendations regarding the appropriate bed base.

Our Bed 2.0 stands out for its simplicity and versatility. It has a height of 33 cm and can be used in many widths between 80 cm and 200 cm. The modular design makes it easy to increase or reduce the size of your bed, so you can always adapt it to your needs and even use it as a family bed. For taller people, the bed can also be extended to an extra length of 220 cm. If you don’t need it for a while and want to use your space differently, simply fold it up – like a folding bed – and place the mattress against the wall. This also makes it ideal as a space-saving guest bed. Thanks to its low weight, you can even carry the bed on your own – an absolute game changer when moving house.  

Our beds are already pre-assembled for the most common mattress sizes. Many other sizes are possible with a simple conversion. The bed frame is designed so that an additional slatted frame is unnecessary. This means the comfort of your mattress is not negatively affected, while the open diamond structure ensures sufficient air circulation underneath it. Our cardboard furniture is made from high-quality heavy-duty corrugated cardboard containing 54–80% recycled fibres. Thanks to its carefully considered construction, it offers a high load-bearing capacity while remaining surprisingly lightweight. This makes it easy to move and rearrange in everyday life and adapt to new living situations. The corrugated cardboard we use is bonded with plant-based starch adhesive and printed with solvent-free, water-based inks. At the end of its life cycle, you can simply dispose of your bed with waste paper and return it to the recycling stream. 

We also offer a matching natural latex mattress, bed linen and a headboard.

How do Bed 2.0 and the GRID bed differ?
Both types of beds have their own advantages and features. The Bed 2.0 can be assembled within a few seconds, depending on the desired size. It comes pre-assembled, making it easy to set up, and can be quickly folded and stored in a space-saving manner if needed. It is adjustable in both width and length and is currently available in 7 different colors.
The GRID bed is delivered to your home in separate parts and can be assembled within a few minutes. It is adjustable in width but not in length and provides generous storage space beneath the sleeping surface, which can be efficiently utilized with the corresponding drawers. You can choose between 3 colours.

In our assembly instructions you will find a size chart that shows you which bed size you need for your mattress and whether an additional extension set is necessary.

Which mattress goes with my Bed 2.0?

How do I assemble the Bed 2.0?
Depending on the size of your bed, you only need to pull it up or convert it with a few simple steps. The assembly or conversion is described in our assembly instructions and does not require any tools.

Can I extend the Bed 2.0 later?
You can adjust the size of your Bed 2.0 to your needs at any time. It can be easily connected to another Bed 2.0 or enlarged using the extension set. In our assembly instructions we explain how to achieve your desired bed size.

Do I need a slatted frame for the bed?
No, you do not need a separate slatted frame. Simply place the mattress on the bed. The rhombus construction and the high permeability of the corrugated cardboard ensure sufficient air circulation. By the way: the German consumer protection organisation Stiftung Warentest explicitly advises its readers to use a rigid grate as a base. That's exactly what our cardboard bed does.

How high is the Bed 2.0?
The bed is 33 cm high.

How resilient is the bed?
The maximum load capacity of the Bed 2.0 in size S is 1 person, sizes M and L up to 2 persons and the Family Bed 2.0 up to 4 persons with a respective body weight of up to 150 kg.

Can I split my double bed into two single beds?
Our double bed (size Large) consists of two connected single beds (size Small), which you can separate again at any time by removing the connecting pieces.

How do I store the bed when I don't need it?
The Bed 2.0 folds flat so you can store it to save space. If you lay it on its side, you can put the mattress on top of it against the wall.
