Our sustainable natural latex mattress is the perfect match for the cardboard bed. Other mattress types (except futons) fit as long as they are at least 15 cm thick and have a medium-firm to firm feel. Be sure to follow the mattress manufacturer’s specific recommendations. If placing the Family Bed 2.0 LOW on a smooth surface, we recommend using an anti-slip mat to prevent any slipping.

The Family Bed 2.0 LOW consists of three individual beds (Bed 2.0 LOW Size small) that can easily be connected using the included connectors to create a spacious family bed. If your child eventually needs their own bed, the family bed can be quickly transformed back into individual beds without the need for tools.

With a height of just 16.5 cm, it's particularly low, making it ideal for young children. This low height minimizes the risk of injury in case of a fall, ensuring a safe and comfortable sleep.

The width of the family bed can be adjusted between 240 and 300 cm, while the length can be extended up to 220 cm. When the bed is no longer needed, it can be easily collapsed, similar to a folding bed. The mattresses can simply be leaned against the wall, freeing up space for other uses. Thanks to the light weight of each individual bed, you can move them effortlessly on your own, which is especially useful during moves.

The sturdy diamond construction eliminates the need for an additional slatted base and ensures proper ventilation of the mattress, without compromising on comfort. Made from high-quality heavy-duty corrugated cardboard, the Family Bed 2.0 LOW is highly durable and stable. It can support up to four people, each with a weight of up to 150 kg. Our AVANA corrugated cardboard is made from 54 to 80% recycled material, fully recyclable and the adhesives used are based on vegan corn starch. At the end of its lifecycle, the Family Bed 2.0 LOW can be easily disposed of through the paper recycling bin, contributing to the recycling process.

What sizes are available for the Family Bed 2.0 LOW?  
The Family Bed 2.0 LOW consists of three connected S-beds and comes in widths ranging from 240 cm to 300 cm, with a length of either 200 cm or 220 cm. If you need a larger size, you can easily expand it beyond 300 cm by connecting additional S-beds.  

Can I adjust the size of my Family Bed 2.0 LOW later?

The Family Bed 2.0 LOW is the lower version of the Family Bed 2.0, standing at just 16.5 cm high. Its low height minimizes the risk of falls, making it a safe option for young children. Additionally, you can attach an L-shaped bed rail for extra protection.  

Can I use the individual beds separately?  
Yes! One of the biggest advantages of the Family Bed 2.0 LOW is that it consists of three connected S-beds. If your children eventually want their own sleeping space, you can detach one of the beds and use it as a standalone single bed in their room.  

Can I attach a bed rail?  
Absolutely. You can easily place an L-shaped bed rail between the mattress and the bed frame for added security. Just make sure it’s compatible with your Family Bed. Alternatively, you can use foam bed bumpers under the fitted sheet for a simple, flexible safety solution.

Do I need a slatted frame for the Family Bed 2.0 LOW?  
No slatted frame is needed. Simply place your mattress directly onto the bed. The innovative diamond-shaped structure ensures excellent airflow for your mattress. Fun fact: Stiftung Warentest even recommends using a rigid slatted frame, which is exactly how our cardboard bed works!
